The exchange proposed allows the interaction among teachers, Italian masteries and countries of Southeast Europe favours the relationship between universities and enterprises and the introduction of ICT technologies as a tool based on processes of working and learning.
Through the “Atelier” which highlights the synergy between knowledge and action, the acquisition of theoretical and analytical aspects and the design process to take significant action. In this context, the project aims to develop cooperation fomrs based on circulation of acquired knowledges in particular the “Community of Practice (COP)” based on peer learning, collaborative learning or sharing information and knowledge in a virtual environment. With this tool, teachers and operators from different realities, linked to the rehabilitation and valorization of cultural heritage in general, and particularly architectural one in the Adriatic area, can share experiences, materials and knowledge already in their possession. Recovery and enhancement of the Red Castle of Tripoli
The Red Castele can be seen as a heterogeneus urban complex, strongly interlocked and integrated. This means that it is necessary to define homogeneous areas of intervention, based on construction typology and/or location, in order to handle the various areas using various areas using working strategies chosen on the basis of the individual features.
This initiative developed a project for reorganising the Red Castle, assisiting the Institutions which are involved in the city of Tripoli and in safeguarding and enhancing it.
This project, through on-site training and experimentation, made available to local staff a technical structure for planning, managing and carrying out all the operations needed to recover and enhance the building.
The works programme, including training activities, was organised over two years, and has set itself complex goals which required a multidisciplinary approach identified in specialised activities.
The activities were split up into the following two phases:
– First phase: a feasibility study in order to acquire knowledge, a critical survey, planning of the interventions and social and economic enhancement. This phase started out from the historical evolution to cataloguing of the asset, from an urban scale analysis to the planning of the area and to the diagnostic and critical surveying activities aimed at making the project, both from a technical point of view and in terms of enhancement for various functions and uses.
– Second phase:training young technicians who have just graduated – proposed and selected by the Institutions involved – in the field of operations (historical knowledge, geometrical and formal surveys, diagnostics, planning). The training takes place in Urbino and in Rome at the School of Specialization for Restoration.
